Few ways to make money online

I have never really talked about this but these are few ways which I have personally used to make money online. First of all, I am extremely sorry for not keeping the blog updated. But from now on, I will try my best to blog as much as possible. Back to this blog post – A few ways to make money online.
Everyone isn’t an expert in making websites or writing blogs. Maybe websites just isn’t your thing, maybe it is. There are many techniques to make money online, maybe you know most of them or you are here just to learn. What I would recommend is to stick to one technique and excel in it. Focus on the thing you are doing and keep improving. For example, if you are a blogger and have Adsense on your blog, try playing around with the colors and placements to see what works the best for you. There might be a point where it gets saturated, it is time to try doing more to it or switching your technique to a better one.
1) Affiliate Marketing
There are many ways which could be used to do this. The easiest one is called ‘RECOMMENDATION’. Recommend products to people who are looking for them, get paid for it. However, this is one of the most difficult ways to make money online. Not just that, is also requires a lot of patience to wait for the payouts.
2) Advertising
Advertising could be considered as PPC or private advertisers. You could get private advertisers by contacting them (you can get their info through the websites which are linked on to other blog ads). There is always someone looking to advertise on a quality content blog with decent traffic.
3) Selling stuff online (only bought stuff from eBay, never sold anything)
I am sure many of you’ll must have already heard about eBay. That’s the easiest way to buy or sell your stuff online. You could also start your own e-commerce portal and list your products, but it is recommend to practice on eBay first. This is the toughest way to make money online. An example which I personally ordered off eBay was a scratch remover pen. It removed scratches off your car. The reason I ordered it? It was cheaper than available anywhere. Probably the guy who was selling it bought it in bulk. He sold over 1,000 pieces within just a week at Rs 500 a pop (It’s cheaper now).
You may have the best website design, the most impressive product, but if you will not make money online if you do not have that one special ingredient…traffic! Almost any method you take for making money online there needs to be a human visitor that needs to interact with it. To make a sale or to get a click on your ad you need a real human visitor to do this.

Traffic = Money

If you have human visitors on your website there would be more ways that you could use to make money. Depends on the type of traffic that you get and the reason they visit your website could help you in finding those ways.
If they come looking for information –
So you have information listed about  a particular product on your website and you are getting a good amount of hits on it, find an affiliate program or a company who’s willing to tie up with you to sell their product to your audience.
Sell advertising space –
You could sell advertising space on the website. You could use Adsense or get advertisers from the method listed above.
Sell the site –
Don’t know what to do with the website? Sell it. That’s what I did with webhostingoffers.org — amazing content, good traffic, but I didn’t know what to do with it.
Make them sign up –
Offer a newsletter or a RSS subscription on your website. Build a database and maybe you could have an advertiser to blast emails to your subscribers.
I need your feedback on this post. Please post it in the comments or tweet to me @sensonize. If you liked the post do share it with your friends.

Be careful here: too many keywords can create an awkward text and many search engines now can recognize and punish keyword cramming.

Finally, you should build links into the post, either to other sites with which you are interacting or to your older posts. Doing this will create a context for your readers to understand as to how your post relates to other posts on the subject. It will also show help search engines see that your site is important. eCommerce Tips The 5 Habits of Highly Effective eCommerce Stores

1. Think like a consumer, and put your products in more than one category. The online businesses that make their goods and services easy to find reap rewards in two ways: People purchase more and they experience greater overall satisfaction with the Web site. Consider up sell and cross sell opportunities by offering products that make logical sense together. If you sell paintings and frames, show the frames that best complement the paintings. If you sell a line of products that have a wide range of prices, show the progression from the least expensive to the most expensive. Customers may choose to purchase the higher priced items if they're presented as options.

2. Keep it simple. Many people cite overly complicated navigation or too many pages in the purchase path as reasons they don't complete their online sale or abandon their shopping cart. Successful eCommerce sites simplify the checkout process and display clear pricing and shipping information. They also post clear return policies and access to customer service. Putting your brick and mortar store's phone number in a visible place on your Web site is a good idea. Studies suggest that consumers feel more confident knowing you're just a phone call away if they have a question or if there's a problem with their order.

3. A picture really is worth a thousand words, so use photos of your products and go easy on the text. Online usability studies suggest that people do not read; they scan. It's 25% harder to read on the Web, so keep these guidelines in mind for optimum readability: Headlines should be 8 words or less, shoot for 9-12 words on a line (people don't want to read across the entire screen), keep sentences short (15-20 words) and try to keep summaries under 30 words and hold paragraphs to 40-70 words. In this way you can maintain compelling product descriptions alongside your product offerings.

4. Market your site once it's live. It's not enough to just build a Web site. You need to make an effort to market and promote your Web site to new and existing customers. Collect email addresses on your site to help you keep in touch with customers and consider creating a newsletter. Seek links from other sites that complement yours. Optimize your site's content for relevance and submit it to the major search engines. With ProStore, you've got an incredible built-in marketing opportunity in that you can promote your products to millions of eBay customers. Take advantage of this capability to reach a whole new set of customers.

5. Make payment processing easy. Online shoppers need a way to give you money online. That's easy these days. You can accept credit card payments with either a PayPal account or an online merchant account. PayPal is ideal for anyone trying out the eCommerce waters since there's less of an upfront commitment, but you may end up paying more per transaction. If you know from the beginning you're going to have strong sales and lots of online transactions each month, you may want to consider setting up an online merchant account. The thing to note about PayPal is that both the buyer and the seller need a PayPal account, but that's hardly a barrier to entry. It's so easy to create a PayPal account that more than 96 million consumer accounts have been created at PayPal since it was founded in 1998 and it's estimated that PayPal has a 24% share of all U.S. online payments.

When the email arrives, open the email and click on “Activate Your eBay Membership”.
You must also create a payment account and be required to use a PayPal account or credit card for payment options. PayPal is the easiest and most secure option to choose, as payments made through PayPal provide an additional source of protection for sellers and buyers. eBay sellers are also offered free auction tools when using PayPal.
The first time you list a product for sell on eBay, you will need to submit a debit or credit card number or checking account number to verify your identity. There is a small selling fee for using eBay. If you like, you can wait until you create your first listing to register your seller’s account.

Selling on eBay

Knowing how to sell on eBay successfully requires that you establish a good reputation. Buyers are more likely to buy from sellers with an eBay history. Buyers and sellers receive positive or negative feedback for eBay transactions. eBay provides seller ratings based on item description, shipping time, communication and shipping and handling charges. You can create a positive history with eBay by purchasing items from sellers, paying promptly and selling smaller items that you ship promptly and accurately.
You will need to research the price of what you are selling on eBay before you list it. Check similar items and see what they have sold for. You can do this by clicking on eBay’s advanced search option and check the box to search “Completed Listings Only.” Enter the name of the item you plan to sell. Consider what it will cost you to ship the item.
Take pictures of the item you want to sell on eBay. For most items you will want multiple shots from different angles and sides. Auctions with pictures often will get more attention, so always use a picture for all your listings.
